The Inaugural Season

Spring 2024

With support from the School District and the Philadelphia Eagles, the inaugural Spring-ford Flag football team took the field for their first game on March 19, 2024. The team which comprised 35 members, went 4-4 during the regular season. They competed against other teams in Southeastern Pennsylvania, some of which had been playing for several seasons. They went into the playoffs and won their very first playoff game. They lost their second playoff game in a hard fought battle against Bristol High School. They are looking to improve their record in 2025 and move further into the playoffs.

The Coaches

Coach Moley is a three-sport athlete and Spring-Ford graduate who now teaches at the school. Her passion for the sport began at an early age. She loved playing football with her brothers and her neighborhood friends. But she was told that football was for boys and at the time the only flag football available was for kindergarten boys as a steppingstone to tackle.

As an adult she has been able to make her dream come true and now plays for a co-ed flag football team. But what means so much to her is the ability to coach the girls because they do have this incredible opportunity that was not available to her and so many others.

Coach Moley

Coach Foulke has been a part of flag football since her daughter picked up the sport at the age of 11. She has been a part of a team that has won several tournaments and played in a national championship. Coach Foulke was instrumental in bringing Flag Football to Spring-Ford through the Eagle’s grant program. She also teaches at Spring-Ford and is so proud of the progress the team has made in the first season. She can’t wait to see what the girls do next.
